Drew Albert, M.D.

Dr. Drew Albert, is an orthopedic surgeon in training at Spectrum Health, Michigan State University, with plans to pursue a career in Spine Surgery. He currently serves as an advisor for the Global Health Impact Fund and Network (GHIN) (https://www.globalhealthimpactnetwork.net/) and has been leading a growing community of orthopedic surgeons on the forefront of healthcare innovation.

His other professional experience includes advising Web3 startups and building in the blockchain tech space since early 2021, with a focus on decentralized file storage, DAOs, and other innovations within the space. His passion project includes working with residents and medical students as the founder of Ortho Conditioning (https://orthoconditioning.com/), a community designed to teach and mentor students within orthopedics. Dr. Albert completed medical school training at Michigan State University’s College of Human Medicine with multiple honors including being inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. Prior to medicine, he worked as the operations lead of a gold and silver placer mine in the Alaska Range for over half a decade.

His current focus has been on innovation within the Web3 space, sustainable and cost effective healthcare innovations, and improving mentorship and learning opportunities within orthopedics for underserved medical students.
